The
Club's main programme runs from September to May. After a long residency at the ELC, an ever growing membership has meant we have had to look for a larger venue. Therefore starting with the 2008-2009 season in September, we will meet on Tuesdays
at our new Club home of the
Hove Methodist Church, Portland Road, Hove, East Sussx, BN3 5DR -

commencing at 7.30pm. We finish between 9.30 and 10pm, have a coffee
break mid way and a few of us visit a local pub at the end of the
evening. We also meet for outings during the summer. Some additional
Thursday evening meetings are designed with new members
in mind.
|
| With
in excess of 120 members we are able to attract visiting speakers from
around the country to give illustrated talks (prints or slides).

We
encourage members to enter images on competition evenings to have
their work assessed by a range of people from both outside and within
the club. Images are assessed in their own right and are not judged
against other images. In fact we don't call our judges 'judges',
we refer to them as 'commentators'. To develop our skill we need
friendly constructive feedback about the images we create.
We
are arranged into 3 levels of experience (entry, intermediate and
advanced); you choose which level you wish to join initially. Our
programme includes workshops and certain evenings are specifically
designed with entry level members in mind. If you are already more
experienced, perhaps preparing to submit your fellowship panel,
we have club members willing to offer support and advice. Maybe
you have particular skills you would be willing to share with us.
|
| We
have an active digital group. In addition to the listed meetings,
informal digital instruction and practical groups are hosted with
content tailored to suit the requirements of those wishing to attend.
Details appear in our monthly newsletter. Naturally we also attract
many traditional darkroom and slide workers. All members are able
to show their work on this website. |
| We
are affiliated to the
Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the Surrey
Photographic Association (SPA). We participate
in SPA functions, submit entries to external events and have our own
exhibitions. |
