This image was taken during the White Nights festival in Brighton in 2010. There was an event called the 'anti-gravity ship' where a huge transparent sphere was 'floated' across a car park whilst images were projected onto it.
Because the sphere was mostly directly above the audience some people decided to lay on the ground to be more comfortable.
I like the shot because it is so confusing that it lends itself to imagination. To me the figures bathed in blue light in the foreground are about to be beamed aboard the spacecraft whilst the figures in the yellow light in the background are being attacked by a heat ray.
By coincidence that night was also the 'zombie walk' night in Brighton (there's a lot happens in Brighton) so there were a couple of people dressed up as skeletons which I think also adds to the confusion and the potential menace of the alien arrival.
