Rich Cutler
My interest in photography began in 2003, when I bought a digital camera, owing to the immediacy of digital photography and the total control over the image that this medium brings. I have very little interest in traditional film photography.
However, I'm definitely 'old school' when developing my digital photographs: I prefer to get as much right as possible before pressing the shutter, and use the computer to enhance only what's already there in a photograph - distorting reality by creating an image that never existed in the viewfinder is anathema. For this reason, the only camera I have is the Leica M8 - the most "manual" digital camera in production.
I joined the BHCC in 2006, and was awarded a Licentiate distinction (LRPS) in 2007 and then an Associate distinction in 2009 by the Royal Photographic Society.
