Club members are given web space for a personal gallery of photographs. The BHCC gallery has been designed to not only look professional but be easy to use – adding, deleting and organising your photographs couldn't be simpler!
The gallery is web-based software that lets you manage your photos in albums via an intuitive interface on the BHCC website. Photo management includes easy image uploading, image resizing, automatic thumbnail creation, rotation, captioning and more. The gallery is also secure, so only you can log in and change your personal album by adding or deleting photos. Visitors can view small versions of your photos but Club members can view larger-sized photos up to 1024 pixels – so, you don't need to worry about image theft.
The BHCC community can also interact in the gallery, by leaving comments on other members' photos (be nice to each other!).
How do I register?
Unlike the BHCC forum, the BHCC gallery is for Club members only. The recommended route to get a personal gallery is to post a request in the Club's forum, in the sub-forum "BHCC Members' Gallery – Apply here": you must provide your full name and membership number. You need, of course, to first join the forum, in order to post your gallery request.
You can also contact the gallery administrator (currently Rich Cutler) at a Club meeting.
How do I use my gallery?
After registering, you will see an empty album titled with your name. You can now create your first album within your gallery, or upload your first photo.
When a photo is uploaded, a small thumbnail-sized image is created: clicking on this thumbnail opens a larger version of the photo. The default size of the large image is 800 pixels, but you can choose to view the photo at different sizes: 400, 600, 800 or 1024 pixels – the last can be viewed only by logged-in Club members.
An album page can contain thumbnails of up to 12 albums or photos, in a 3 x 4 arrangement, and these thumbnails can be placed in any order you wish. (If you want a different grid in an album, e.g. 2 x 5 to display an LRPS panel correctly, contact the gallery administrator).
Note that thumbnails of photos are identified by a shadow effect, while album thumbnails have a white border and resemble a stack of photos.
Need help?
There is a comprehensive help page (click on "Help" at the top right of any gallery web page) that explains how to upload images, and how to use the various tools.
The current gallery administrator is Rich Cutler. If you have a question that's not covered in the help file, please contact him at a Club meeting or by
