Bio

Tobias James Slater-Hunt is a photographer and teacher of photography with over 30 years experience. As Tobias Slater-Hunt, he works as a fine art photographer exploring photography's relationship with body, with the portrait and authenticity. Moving from analogue practice to digital photography, Tobias has sought to explore the elasticity of the medium and all the creative potential that might offer. Over the last two years his practice has begun to explore the studio portrait.

Photography style & work

As Tobias James, he has built a career as a knowledgeable photography tutor in the FE and Adult Education sector, for many years running numerous creative photography courses online, running studio workshops and mentoring many photographers on their creative journeys.

Tobias will talk about his 30 years of adventures in photography, focusing on some of the projects he has made along the way, share examples of his work and give insights into what he has learnt from both his practice as an artist and his practise as a teacher of photography. Tobias will be more than happy to take questions on any aspect of photography at the end of the talk and he very much looks forward to the opportunity to be with you on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
